FAMILY-OWNED IN WAXAHACHIE SINCE 1991

A Family Business Built One Job at a Time

Compton’s began with a rented carpet cleaning machine, 500 door flyers, a pager, and one family’s determination to build something dependable.

Today, the company continues under second-generation family leadership with the same ownership, accountability, and care that shaped it from the beginning.

WHERE THE COMPTON STORY BEGAN

A Career Changed. A Family Business Started.

In 1991, Safeway supermarkets left Texas. Greg Compton Sr., who had worked his way from stocker to store manager over more than a decade, suddenly needed a new way to provide for his family.

Greg’s entrepreneurial drive led him to rent a portable carpet cleaning machine, print 500 door flyers, and buy a pager. He went door to door—often with his three young sons helping—and returned customer pages from pay phones. After each job, he went right back to handing out flyers.

Within three years, Greg had grown from one rented machine to two vans with truck-mounted steam cleaning units and a reputation built through dependable work.

FOUR CHAPTERS OF THE COMPTON LEGACY

From a Rented Machine to a Full-Service Company

01

1991: The First Door Flyers

Greg began knocking on doors, returning pager messages from pay phones, booking work, and building the business customer by customer.

02

Three Years: Two Truck-Mount Vans

Consistent work and local referrals helped Compton’s grow quickly from portable equipment to two professional truck-mounted cleaning systems.

03

A Broader Range of Services

The company expanded beyond carpet into tile and grout, furniture, rugs, air ducts, wood floors, water restoration, and commercial janitorial work.

04

Today: A Second Generation

David Compton is carrying forward the company his parents built, with a vision for continued service and a future third generation.

THE STANDARD GREG BUILT

“It’s Just Not Clean, Until It’s Compton Clean!”

This is more than a slogan. It is the standard the Compton family has carried from the first rented machine to every service performed today.

Ownership • Care • Clear Communication • Professional Workmanship

A TRUE FAMILY-OWNED AND OPERATED BUSINESS

Greg Built the Vision. Ginger Helped Build the Company.

As Compton’s grew, Greg’s wife, Ginger, joined the company as office manager and helped lead its day-to-day operations. Together, they created a business where family participation was not a slogan—it was the way the company worked.

All three of Greg and Ginger’s sons contributed from an early age. They learned the value of showing up, taking responsibility, caring for customers, and standing behind the work.

Nearly 35 years later, that family foundation remains central to Compton’s. The business has changed, the equipment has advanced, and the services have expanded, but the commitment to local relationships has stayed the same.

SECOND-GENERATION LEADERSHIP

Meet David Compton

David Compton, the middle son of Greg and Ginger, grew up in the cleaning and restoration industry. He began helping his father around age 12 and was operating his own truck and route in the family business by 16.

David later partnered in and managed larger cleaning and restoration businesses, including managing Compton’s for three years before leaving the family company in 2016. Following his father’s passing, David returned and worked with his mother to continue the business as Ginger prepared for retirement.

David also served four years in the United States Army as a member of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal community. He completed two Iraq tours in 2004 and 2006, was honorably discharged, and received awards including the Bronze Star Medal and Combat Action Badge.

After his military service, David returned to the industry and continued building his technical knowledge. He is a Master Certified Water Restorer and brings decades of hands-on cleaning, management, and restoration experience to Compton’s.
